✨ Finding the right size for your dachshund should feel easy.

No complicated charts, no guesswork — just a few simple steps to help your pup feel comfortable and move freely 🤍
This guide will walk you through how to measure your dachshund at home, in just a few minutes.

📒 A quick note before we begin

Every dachshund is a little different — longer backs, broader chests, shorter legs. That’s exactly why measurements matter more than weight alone.

If your pup falls between two sizes, we usually recommend choosing the bigger size — especially if your pup has a broader chest or thicker coat. A little extra room keeps things easy to move in, and it’s often better than a fit that feels tight or restrictive 🤍

1. How to Measure Your Dachshund

Use a soft measuring tape and have your pup stand naturally on all four legs.
The tape should sit snugly against the body, but never tight.

Back Length

Measure from the base of the neck (where the collar naturally sits) to the base of the tail.
This is especially important for dachshunds due to their long bodies.

Chest Circumference

Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs.
This is the most important measurement for fit and comfort.

Neck Circumference

Measure around the base of the neck where the collar usually rests.
Leave enough room to comfortably fit two fingers.

2. Finding the Right Size

Each CUDS piece is designed with a specific cut and fit in mind.
Please refer to the individual size chart on each product page, and match your dog’s measurements to the chart provided.

Our size charts reflect garment measurements, not your dog’s body measurements — allowing space for movement and layering.
